As we all know the Emmy's were this weekend. Boy, what a show that was! Tracy Morgan "passed out" on stage? HaHa! that was great! Jon Cryer for best leading actor in a comedy? I thought it was going to Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper. oh well. What we do have to say about the Emmy's is LASHES, LIPS, and UPDOS! Those seemed to be the big three beauty focal points this year on the red carpet. Zooey Deschannel(New Girl) looked stunning with her thick lashes and raspberry lips. Very kissable!! Oh and Allison William's(Girls) french twist accented her face beautifully! Kat Denning's(2 Broke Girls) burgundy lips on her fair skin looked very sexy! Jessica Pare(Mad Men) really wowed us with her thick sexy lashes and hot orange lips! And Heidi Klum's(Project Runway) eye stood out with her simple sexy lashes!
Now its your turn! First the French twist. I've posted a pretty useful video. Her look is a little extra volumized for 2012 so just don't tease as much hair. If you live somewhere humid ar just have frizzy hair highly recomend starting with Goldwell Kerasilk Anti-Frizz Serum to keep the look sleek and elegant. Also a perfect hairspray for this look would be Framesi Be Yourself Mist Spray Light, because of the nature of this look a strong or heavy hairspray could make it look really plastic or fake.
For lips, make sure to pick one that won't clash with your skin tone. For example, an orange color lip isn't going to be the sexiest thing on someone with tan skin. Mirabella offers a great line of lip sticks.
Eylashes can be tricky. Some people are just born with long, full lashes while some of us really have to work for them. In any case, however, there are many options! If you already have long, full eye lashes we call you lucky! The way to bring the focus to them is as easy as just having a goo mascara. Jane Iredale Longest Lash is a perfect one plus it has a variety of colors to match the way you feel each day. Now if you don't have the long lashes you desire there are a few different options. One is a serum like Rapid Lash or Revitalash. Every night just apply like eyeliner and it helps treats the roots of your lashes for extended strength and growth. Another option is a conditioner mascara first then mascara i.e. Jane Iredale PureLash Extender. Using a conditioner can also extend the ware on you mascara. The final option is for quick needed that night uses(conditioning and serum take time to fully grow your lashes). However its also not a long term fix. The idea false eye lashes. Xtended Beauty is a brand dedicated to false eye lashes, false lashes can sometimes have a bad connotation but in all reality they are great for a night out. The biggest thing you have to put them on carefully or they will bother you all night! make sure to trim the lashes to your size before putting them on and take a deep breath before you out them on for steady face and hands. I have been waiting to do this blog for a while because I wanted to give the Mascara real test run and make sure that I could give a honest opinion.
theBalm just recently discontinued their mascara called Two-Timer Mascara. I was extremely upset because I loved that mascara but I was happy to hear they made a new one called Cheater. I have been trying out this mascara everyday for the past 2 weeks and so far I'm LOVING it! Here arte photos of what the new mascara looks like.
As to most products there are pros and cons about thebalm Cheater and here are my personal opinions about it.
Pro's are: 1. The pigment of the mascara is amazing, extremely black and very intense 2. Very full and thick applicator brush 3. Dries in a short time so I'm not having to wait 4. Gives Amazing volume in very few applications 5. Lashes stay volumizied and curved upwards all day
Con's are: 1. Dosn't have 2 brushes
I cant really say much negative about this mascara besides the fact of it not having two brushes but I almost feel like with the new formula and brush I wouldn’t need two brush applicators. Go try it out I know you will Love it
